ATLANTIS

There are legends of a lost continent in the Atlantic Ocean in many ancient cultures. It was said to have sunk beneath the waves in a great cataclysm. Its story of an ancient advanced civilisation has captured the imagination of millions. There is a remarkable similarity between the cultures on either side of the Atlantic Ocean. Advanced civilisations sprang up fully formed in South and Central America, Egypt and Ireland. There are similarities in language, pyramid architecture, culture and legends of an advanced ancient civilisation in the ocean with names like Atlan and Atlantica. Ancient maps like the one shown above, show not only advanced knowledge of the layout of the world, but some also show a landmass in the Atlantic Ocean. There are similarities in ancient cultures around the Atlantic.
Ruins have been found under the sea off the shores of Spain and Bermuda. The enigma of the Bermuda Triangle may be an effect of something related to Atlantis. The legend goes that there was a civilization of higher beings in a land that sank under the ocean. In some stories this cataclysm was the result of their technology gone wrong. This could be related to the effect of the Bermuda triangle. If they opened some kind of portal or stargate it would explain the disappearance of the ships and planes there. However the timescale Plato gives for Atlantis matches the end of the Ice Age, when the seas rose due to melting ice. The Atlanteans were said to have advanced crystal technology, including huge cylinders. Huge crystal cylinders have been found in Ireland and elsewhere near the Atlantic. The Atlanteans were said to have advanced knowledge, that knowledge could explain the advanced astrological and scientific knowledge displayed in pyramids in Egypt and America, in Newgrange in Ireland and Stonehenge in England. Ruins in Southern Spain such as in the Doňana National Park in Seville and off the coast of Huelva have been connected with Atlantis. Southern Spain was known as the Hesperides, the Hesperides were the daughters of Atlas, a Greek God who was said to be the founder of Atlantis. Atlantis seems to have stretched from the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico where the Mayan culture was, to Ireland and Iberia in the North West of the Atlantic. Edgar Cayce, the ‘sleeping prophet’, said that Atlantis would be found in Bimini in the Bahamas. Then a rock formation was found there that looks artificial, known as the ‘Bimini Road’. There are many mysteries without conclusive answers in the lands around the Atlantic, Atlantis would explain some of them. A prophecy says that Atlantis will rise again. Some land has come up from under the sea in the Pacific Ocean, time will tell whether any ancient lands rise to the surface in the Atlantic Ocean. |
